V Season 2 Episode 2: "Serpent's Tooth"

V-2
Ah, if only baby food producers had the foresight to do product placement in last night's episode of V!
The moment V fans were waiting for has arrived.  Yes, last season had plenty of lizardy reveals, including Anna's dinner and a date (or should that be "date and a dinner"?).  But we all know that the tried and true followers would not be satisfied with anything less than a disgusting rodent swallowing scene.  We received it, and the baby feeding added a terrifically revolting and unnerving touch, sure to be a gross out classic for years to come!  I'm very frustrated that I can't find an image of it anywhere online.
That said, the show could be...jumping the lizard (bleh - wanted to avoid that term, but here I am).  At least for me, I'm finding the mystic-religious hoohah about humanity and the soul rather empty and pointless.  Why should a genetically engineered mamalian covering suddenly magically zap you with a soul?  The theme of emotion and sociopathy in reptiles can be explored from a perfectly interesting angle - the reptilian "R-Cortex".
Jane Badler's return is going to be wasted if all she's going to do is run around in the lizard dungeon wearing her red gown and get repeatedly pimp-slapped by her daughter.  Nor do I love the ultimate evil alien plan - to mate with humans.
And again, the human resistance bores me, although I'm liking the developments between Chad Decker and Father Stylish-Leather-Jacket.  Consider the thrilling, high-adrenaline guerilla attacks and chase scenes of our 80's V Resistance heroes.  What do we have now? Lots of handwringing and googling in a dimly lit basement, and ignoble suicide bombings (not going to get into recent events here).

I've been skeptic about "V" after a great pilot and some slow follow-up... I might just have to give the first season a better try.
