October 23 - Pazuzu Remixed

RATE: 4 Flag

It's a sad fact that Exorcist II: The Heretic is one of my favorite films.  Yes, you read right.  And I'm sorry to say that I will one day blog extensively about this film and how it satisfies as an unintentional comedy and as a wholly original artistic vision.
In the meantime, you can watch this trailer, and it may make about as much sense as the entire full length film.  This trailer covers it all, and remixes the spectacular liturgical music by Ennio Morricone into a hilarious acid disco stomp.  Warning, you may find your head bobbing side to side and you might catch yourself singing along 'DA DA DA! DA DA DA!' while you watch the trailer.

I am having a hard time rating this thing because of the video for some reason. You and I share a love of horror. Too bad I have to cover my eyes all the time.:)
HUGGGGGGGGG
I know that movie and it was...uh...dubious. But the prequel was pretty good. What's your take? R Hugs.
Thanks Linda and Zuma!

Linda, this movie is good for a laugh, not a scare...

Zuma, as you might know, there were two prequels to the Exorcist in a historic disaster of film cinema. Cut One was "Exorcist: The Beginning" which was a deplorable bunch of crap, although as I said in my John Waters post, the last ten minutes could have been one of his films. The second cut, "Dominion: A Prequel to the Exorcist" though far from a perfect movie, was worthy of the original work.
Richard Burton was in this. Richard Burton was in this??? I'm not sure what else to say about the movie (I think I saw it) but as far as a film that is "satisfying as an unintentional comedy and as a wholly original artistic vision" I'd like to nominate King of the Avenue.
Margaret - he was. And allegedly he was swilling vodka the whole time he was filming (not to mention dating an underaged Linda Blair - creepy). Swilling vodka to get through this film is recommended. I'll be sure to check out King of the Avenue
Holy flashback! Had totally forgotten about this one. I (now) remember abbreviated TV commercials for this movie – especially the “DA DA DA!” song. My cousin and I used to think/wish/hope it was Linda Blair singing it. I also have an oversized promo poster for “Chained Heat” – talk about a prized possession.
