By the Grace of the Godfather of Goth
"Eliza" by Peter Murphy
I had the pleasure of seeing Peter Murphy, formerly of Bauhaus,
perform at SLC concert venue The Depot last summer. He was touring in
promotion of his latest solo release, Lion.If he wasn't lip synching, his voice remains as powerful as ever. And, he is truly a model for rock stars who want to age gracefully.
For one thing, he dressed elegantly and age appropriately, not trying to squeeze into a muscle shirt and a pair of leather pants. That is appreciated.
He sang a single from Lion, titled "Eliza". It's beautiful and anthemic and some dark ear candy.
Enjoy it.

Eliza is most excellent
ear candy... BTW, speaking of things that crawl into your ear, your
suggestion of Cole Porter's "Well Did you Evah" for the Golgonooza
post...

... is quite the ear worm. It's been playing in my head for more than a week. R&R ;-)

Everyone muses... where
did all the good rock go? The answer: it is crawling out of
retirement... Crosby (of Stills Nash and Young), Clapton, Neil Diamond,
Leonard Cohen, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd... all have new CDs...As does
Streisand, and Tony Bennett (with an amazingly jazzy Lady Gaga)... Take
THAT young whippersnappers! Ear candy is indeed back!
